Risk Warning

Leveraged trading can cost you a large part of your capital, whether a person or a program places the trades. It suits some people and not others. Of every page on this site, this is the one we most want you to read in full.

Losses are real and common

Trading carries a high risk of loss. Part of your capital, all of it, or in some circumstances more than you deposited can be lost. Commit only money you could lose without it changing how you live. Leverage works in both directions with equal force, and although our robots are built for leverage of 1:30 or less, a losing streak can still remove a large slice of an account. One robot in our range has a published peak drawdown above a third of its account balance. Look at that figure before deciding.

You are buying a program, not a result

PlexyBotis a software company. We never hold your money, never trade for you and never manage anybody’s account. Each trade the program opens is opened on your account, under your control, and its consequences are yours. Nobody at PlexyBot can see your balance or step in to stop a trade.

What can go wrong with automated trading specifically

  • Programs have bugs, and every strategy is calibrated to past markets that will not recur in the same shape. Unfamiliar conditions can produce behaviour nobody anticipated.
  • A connection that drops, a broker that goes down, an update that restarts the terminal, a disk with no room left, a laptop that dozes off: any of them can swallow an order, and the order it swallows may be the one that was going to close a losing position.
  • Price gaps, thin markets, wide spreads, requotes and slippage can all cause a loss much larger than the stop the strategy planned.
  • A program does not hesitate. When it is wrong, it can be wrong many times in a row before you notice.
  • A history of results, even on a public account, describes the past. It does not predict the future.

What can go wrong on your side

  • Your broker’s spread, commission, swap and fill quality feed straight into your result, and none of them match ours.
  • Pushing the risk input beyond what the setup guide states turns the robot into something we have never operated and cannot vouch for.
  • Switching the program off in the middle of a drawdown locks in a loss that might otherwise have recovered. It is the most frequent way a sound system ends up losing money for its user.

None of this is advice

Nothing published here is financial, investment, legal or tax advice, and nothing is a recommendation to trade any particular instrument. PlexyBot is not a broker, not an exchange and not a regulated adviser. For guidance on your own situation, consult someone licensed to give it.

Your part of the bargain

It is your job to understand what you bought, to trial it on a demo account with your own broker before risking money, to choose risk settings you can tolerate, to keep the platform running, and to obey your broker’s rules and the law where you live. If that is not something you are prepared to do, automated trading software is not for you, whoever sells it.
