Cookies

A short inventory of the cookies this site uses and how to refuse them. You will not find a consent pop-up here, because there is nothing to consent to beyond what makes the site and the checkout function.

Cookies in one sentence

A cookie is a small note a website leaves in your browser so that it can recognise the same browser next time. A few are needed for a site to function; many others across the web exist only to track people between sites.

The ones we use

  • A referral cookie. Placed only when you open a personal payment link that somebody sent you. It carries an opaque token identifying who sent you, holds no information about you, and expires after ninety days.
  • Checkout cookies.Inside the embedded card checkout, the payment processor sets cookies of its own so a payment can be completed and screened for fraud. They are governed by the processor’s policies rather than ours, and paying by card is not possible without them.
  • A staff session cookie. Placed only when someone on our team logs in to the internal back office. It is signed, HttpOnly, and expires after eight hours. Customers never receive it.

The ones we do not use

Nothing for advertising. No measurement pixels. No outside analytics trailing you from here to the next website. Since we buy no retargeting, a cookie of that sort would have no work to do.

Blocking them

Any modern browser can block or clear cookies for this domain from its settings, and you are free to do so. Reading the site works fine without cookies. Completing a card payment does not, because the processor relies on its cookies to secure the transaction.
